Lip Filler in Wymondham, near Norwich
Lip filler can add shape, definition, hydration or a little more volume, while keeping your lips in proportion with the rest of your face. Annie treats clients from Wymondham and across Norwich, and her approach is subtle: lips that look like yours, only refreshed.

Enhancement, shaping and volume
Lip filler is not only about size. Hyaluronic acid can be used to define the border of the lips, correct small differences between the top and bottom lip or from side to side, restore hydration to lips that have thinned with age, and soften the fine lines above the lip that are sometimes called smoker's lines.
Because hyaluronic acid holds water, lips often look smoother and more hydrated as well as fuller. Results are visible straight away, and they continue to settle over the following seven days as the filler integrates.
0.5ml or 1ml?
A 0.5ml treatment suits a first treatment, a subtle change, or hydration and definition without much extra volume. A 1ml treatment allows more shape and volume, or a full refresh if you have had filler before and it has worn down.
You do not need to decide in advance. Annie will look at the shape and proportions of your lips and your face, ask what you would like, and recommend an amount. It is always possible to add a little more at a later date, so she will start conservatively if you are new to filler.
What to expect
The treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes within a 45 minute appointment. A numbing cream is sometimes used beforehand, and the filler gel contains a local anaesthetic, so there is very little discomfort.
Lips swell more than most areas, so expect them to look fuller than the final result for the first few days. Most people go back to work the same day. Avoid booking lip filler just before a big event, and give it a week or two to settle.

Safety
What you need to know before lip filler
Every treatment carries risk. Nothing here replaces the consultation, where all of this is discussed with you before you consent to anything.
Not suitable if
- Under 18s, as cosmetic treatment of this kind is not permitted by law in England
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Active infection, cold sores or inflamed skin at the treatment site
- Known allergy to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine, or a history of anaphylaxis
- Autoimmune conditions or immunosuppressive treatment, assessed individually
- Dental work or vaccinations within two weeks either side of treatment
- A history of frequent cold sores, which may need preventive treatment first
Common and expected
- Swelling, redness and tenderness for two to five days
- Bruising, which can take up to two weeks to settle
- Small firm areas that soften over the first fortnight
- Lips that look uneven while swelling settles over the first few days
Serious risks
The most serious risk with any dermal filler is vascular occlusion, where filler blocks or compresses a blood vessel. It is rare, and it is the reason filler should only ever be given by a medical professional trained to recognise and treat it. Annie is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, an independent prescriber and a member of the Aesthetic Complications Expert (ACE) Group, and you are given a number to call straight away if you notice unusual pain, whitening or mottling of the skin, or any change in your vision.
Aftercare
- Avoid touching or massaging the area for the rest of the day
- No makeup over the injection points for twelve hours
- No alcohol, strenuous exercise, saunas or steam rooms for 24 hours
- No facials, peels or other treatments over the area for two weeks
- Sleep slightly elevated for the first night or two if you swell easily
- Contact Annie straight away if you notice unusual pain, whitening or mottling of the skin, or any change in your vision
- Avoid hot drinks and drinking through a straw for the rest of the day
Questions
How much lip filler should I have?
Many people start with 0.5ml for a subtle change. Annie will recommend an amount at your consultation based on your lips and your goals, and she would always rather add more later than overdo it.
How much does lip filler cost?
Lip filler is £185 for 0.5ml and £240 for 1ml. The consultation beforehand is free.
How long will the swelling last?
Swelling is usually most noticeable for the first two to three days and settles over about a week. Bruising can take up to two weeks to fade.
Will my lips look natural?
That is always the aim. Annie works with the natural shape of your lips and your face, rather than giving everyone the same look.
Can lip filler be dissolved?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with a prescription-only enzyme if it ever needs to be, after a consultation and patch test.
Is the clinic easy to reach from Norwich?
Yes. Annie treats clients at The Orange Grove Clinic in Wymondham, NR18 0BD, with plenty of parking and easy access from Norwich, the A11 and the A47. The clinic is relaxed, private and quiet. You can book online, or call 07359 836026 if you would like to talk anything through first.
