Aftercare

Polynucleotides

What to do

  • Avoid touching or massaging the injection points for the rest of the day
  • No makeup over the injection points for twelve hours
  • No alcohol, strenuous exercise, saunas or steam rooms for 24 hours
  • No facials, peels or other treatments over the area for two weeks
  • Protect your skin from the sun while it recovers

What is normal

  • Small raised bumps at the injection points, which usually settle within a day or two
  • Redness, mild swelling or tenderness
  • Occasional bruising
  • Puffiness under the eyes for a few days when the eye area is treated

When to call

Serious complications are rare. The main risks are infection at an injection site and an allergic reaction, which is why a fish allergy rules this treatment out and your medical history is checked carefully first. Annie is a member of the Aesthetic Complications Expert (ACE) Group, and you are given a number to call if you have any concerns after treatment.

The clinic number is 07359 836026. If you are worried, call or message rather than wait. If you cannot reach us and it is urgent, call NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency.
